Chapter 5
ReplyDeleteThesis: The earth is already in a state of constant cyclical change. People responsible for geoengineering exploit this fact to their benefit, using the natural cycles as a cover for their degrading behavior.
“Geoengineering impacts wind patterns that alter ocean patterns that release methane from the floor of the ocean” (155). One artificial input into a natural system can ripple into many negative effects for various other systems. Since the main geoengineering project deals with the stratosphere which encompasesses the entire planet, this one action of stratospheric aerosol injection, has major consequences.
The guise of national security allows for various testing projects to be done without considering the consequences. “Add to that the thousands of atmospheric nuclear tests and projects like the Project West Ford attempt to produce and artificial atmosphere as a “telecommunications shield” with copper needles, but which only created an 8.5 earthquake in Alaska and loss of Chilean coastline” (156). Geoengineering projects are most of the time, experiments and projects to see how much power humans can have over natural systems. This is exploitative and unsustainable.
“Certainly the energy industry (nuclear and oil) has dominated politics for so long that its ubiquitous presence is all but invisible, but it is deeply involved with the chemtrail alchemy, ELF ground waves, and tomographic change-particle heat of HAARP technologies” (161). Geoenginnering relies on the fossil fuel industry and vise versa. Both are horrible for the environment even though geoengineering says that its project aim at mitigating climate change. What those projects actually do is directly affect the climate!
Chapter 6
Thesis: Having control of the weather grants you control of the masses.
“As we saw in the famine that the soviets artificially created in the Ukraine prior to World War II, famine is an effective means of subjugating a people. By controlling food, you can control people” (173). Geoengineering allows a powerhouse like the US to have full autonomy over climates. This allows for control of the growth of crops and viability of livestock. By controlling the food supply of a specific region you are able to cause people to focus on their hunger instead of having a well fed populous ready for protest.
“The manufacture of extreme weather, disasters, and false flag media events has become a business model, with fat cats like big insurance in the know about secret operations like aerosols” (175). Essentially, geoengineering of the weather allows for big corporations to take advantage of natural disasters. If insurance companies are aware of geoengineering they do not protect people from the consequences caused by geoengineering projects which ultimately boosts their profit because they don’t need to cover such “incidents”.
“”Climate change” will play the patsy so agribiz and chemical giants can reap big profits as Wall Street traders rake in the weather derivatives” (175). Climate change allows for large agricultural businesses to have an excuse for using chemicals to keep crops alive. This gives money to the agribusinesses as well as the chemical companies. Those on Wall Street who invest in large corporations, receive the benefits of these markets doing well and the climate change allows for that to happen.
Chapter 7
DeleteThesis: Controlling the weather can allow you to target specific areas. If you wish to devastate an area or a group of people, geoengineering gives you the power to do so.
“Accomplishing such a feat on a grand scale meant owning an encompassing energy delivery system and a way of focusing and steering it” (202). Geoengineering allows for weather control on a global scale. Focusing the control on specific areas.
There are many examples of instances in which geoengineering has resulted in “natural disasters”. “Given that HAARP earthquake creation seems to follow a pump-and-dump pattern-a pumping action of, say, M4.5, which is then steered to the target some time later for a larger thrust-the Christchurch quake was on point: on February 21, the Northern Territory experienced a M4.7, then a full day later, the M6.3 hit”(206). This instance in New Zealand shows how one project, eventually affects a nearby area with extreme weather.
“These pulses can be fine-tuned and adjusted so that the bounced ground penetrating beam can target a very specific area and for a specific length of time” (212). Geoengineers have the power to create earthquakes in specific areas through extremely low frequencies.
Question: There is so much scientific proof revolving around geoengineering, so why is it so hard to convince people that this is really happening?

This is a big claim, and also a claim that lacks a citation. However, it brings to light the important concept of questioning what we believe, which is important when it comes to truth finding.
2. There can be more than one reason for everything. “While he foam in Australiaand “snow rollers” in Vermont indicate the chemical edicts of methane, they may also point to local chemtrail “experiments” or syncretistic effects of all the chemicalized heating going on” (Freeland 165). It is important to recognize that even though there is one reason for something, that does not mean there cannot be another.
3. “Thus we have learned to suspect a raft of given perceptions and media hype, including “global warming” and the assumption that Earth changes are natural (or supernatural)” (Freeland 171). Media hype can cloud all of our perceptions and what we feel. It’s so easy to get stuck reading media that only reflects your views, even if it is not necessarily true.
THESIS: Control over people is gained via control of their environments.
1. “As ionosphere excitation quickens carbon-heavy “global warming,” failing “climate models” fail to explain away extreme weather” (Freeland 174). It is important to fact-check and ask important questions. Science is still developing, and this means we cannot always have all the answers we need.
2. We never know fully what is to come. “It may be that a period of weather “experimentation” is ending, or that a period of weather warfare is commencing” (Freeland 180). With the secrecy that goes on at higher-levels, citizens cannot know for sure what is being planned or even carried out. Especially not with all of the media to cut through in order to spread information.
3. It is intensely difficult to go against the norms set by large corporations. Monsanto is an example of this. “Some nations are fighting this biotech takeover of food. India is still holding on as a whole foods nation but is experiencing a devastating rate of suicide among its struggling farmers” (Freeland 185). Going against large corporations can have devastating results.
THESIS: Geoengineering has impacts greater than we could think of, because the Earth and the human body works as a system.
1. “Are these “ripples and patterns in the fabric of spacetime itself” the “washboard effect” showing up in artificial cirrus clouds created by chemtrails?” (Freeland 198). It is important to ask questions. Analyzing things that we think are universal truths is important to finding the actual truth. Anything is a possibility.
2. It is important to recognize the Earth as a system. “The Earth and its atmosphere is a breathing organism, a whole being dependent upon innate rhythms, as is all of biological life here below” (Freeland 199). In thinking of the Earth as a system, it becomes clear that any action has a systematic impact and is never just impacting one thing.
3. “Not only are we breathing in heavy metals and polymers while being inundated by an ionised atmosphere and radiation untold, but our blood has been drafted to play Petri dish for a nanotech hybrid “experiment” we have taken to calling Morgellons” (Freeland 223). These toxic chemicals can have very physical impacts. Some claim an impact is morgellons, though this is not a scientifically-backed disease.
QUESTION: How do we find the distinction between science and claims that should not be taken as fact? (citizens science and observational science are important, and asking questions is crucial, but how do we find a balance?)
Chapter 5: The same way we hold companies and organizations like frackers accountable for their impact, we need to look at HAARP in that same manner.
ReplyDelete1. “Exponential biological, geological, and chemical Earth changes are underway, and it is now essential to learn how to discern the difference between what is natural and cyclic and what is anthropogenic” (156). Global manipulation like chemtrails is kept so secretive and ambiguous that people cannot discern what is caused by natural cycles and what humans do. It’s difficult to address a multidimensional issue if this is the stopping point of the conversation.
2. “Seventy-five percent of America has been conditioned to believe that carbon-driven “global warming” is causing the weird weather extremes now broadly labeled “climate change”” (156). While I absolutely detest the tone that Freeland uses when discusses climate change, it is worthy to note the word ‘conditioned’ in this quote. Media especially does condition people to think a certain way, and it is valuable to keep mind of this.
3. “While the US Geological Survey assures us that “climate warming” will not kick off “a chain reaction of warming and methane releases” for a few thousand years, the Arctic Methane Emergency Group (AMEG) is rightfully up in arms about the Arctic and calling for a moratorium on drilling in the Arctic” (165). I know that Freeland heavily criticizes scientists, but methane being released from ice and permafrost has already been happening and the concept of the greenhouse effect has been known for over 100 years. Freeland needs to acknowledge established science along with her arguments!
Chapter 6: Extreme weather events allow vultures to swoop in and make a profit from other people’s suffering.
1. “Failing “climate models” fail to explain away extreme weather. Either it is being intentionally engineered or it is blowback from the upper atmosphere’s reactivity to decades of [...] HAARP ELF waves” (173). I don’t want to dismiss the possibility that HAARP has been affecting the atmosphere and, in turn, the extreme weather events, but the logic that climate models are failing because they don’t predict extreme weather events is inherently flawed: models are never 100% accurate because that’s just what a model is; a climate model addresses climate, not weather patterns which are very different; meteorologists can barely predict the weather for tomorrow, so how should a climate model be able to predict extreme events?; systems are so complex and interconnected, so we should keep that in mind rather than bashing other data because of its perceived failures.
2. “Following in the wake of extreme weather like vultures is an entire industry dedicated to a disaster-based capitalism, rising up to profit from “climate change”” (174). On one hand, I can see how someone would think this is an issue, but, on the other hand, it seems counterintuitive as a lot of restoration efforts are funded by the government, at least in the US, so less money would be able to stay within the government and HAARP operations. Moreover, the areas that have been demolished have cost people millions of dollars. I see what Freeland was getting at here, but this also assumes that there are enough people who do not care about other people’s well beings so there would have to be a lot of psychopaths behind these operations.
3. “To Wall Street speculators who view hunger as a commodity like anything else, HAARP-chemtrails weather manipulation must sound like the golden goose has arrived” (176). Admittedly, Wall Street folks are often greedy and careless with other people, but I’m not sure this would be their mindset when they think of weather manipulation. This argument just doesn’t seem to be coming from the correct angle.
Chapter 7: The manipulation of the atmosphere was in conversation over a century ago, and this could be why we are experiencing natural disasters today.
Delete1. “As was claimed earlier, all things HAARP begin with Tesla. In a 1912 interview, Nikola Tesla said it would be possible to split the planet by combining vibrations with the Earth’s own resonance” (195). Tesla definitely started conversation around the direct manipulation of the atmosphere.
2. “Ionospheric heaters like HAARP boil the ionosphere and create a high-pressure area that pulls the stratosphere up along with the atmosphere. On both sides of the high-pressure area, a bumper zone then forces low pressure around it” (196). For how much Freeland seems to dislike science and scientists, this whole section around how chemtrails work seemed like science to me. I appreciate the explanation of how these chemtrails are affecting weather and climate, but it seemed highly hypocritical.
3. “”Full spectrum dominance” doctrine means military experimentation - and control - everywhere. Next began a period of, well, seemingly scheduled earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornadoes” (204). I don’t personally think that all coincidences are just mere coincidences, but I do not believe that these natural disasters were scheduled and planned so precisely. It seems that the use of chemtrails is not very well established and I don’t picture the technology was ready to create such targeted and specific disasters.
Question: What is HAARP’s end goal given all of the varying and ambiguous information?
Chapter 5: The weather and overall climate are being altered in ways that are hard for the public to realize.

I believe that this is entirely true and extremely important to understand, but understood with an open perspective towards what these changes could be and what could be causing them. I do not believe it is beneficial to convince yourself that there is only one answer to such a complex theory.
2. “People once sought solace from the magnificence of the night’s starry heavens, but now light pollution exacerbated by the ionized particulates in our perennially plasma-ized atmosphere has cut off even the heavens: maximum visible magnitude is not 4 (400 stars visible) in contrast to the 6,000 stars of the previous magnitude 6 to the 6th power” (Freeland, 156). I have always had love for space and the stars, so this jumped out at me because I was shocked to read how low the maximum visible magnitude is now. I am not fully convinced that this is true, but it was definitely important to think about.
3. “From the 1850s to circa 1950 in the Northern Hemisphere, the glaciers shrank, then grew, then shrank, and now appear to be growing again” (Freeland, 156). Well this is just not true. I didn’t understand what Freeland was trying to get at during this chapter, and this sentence completely threw me off. Reading on, I never really did get an explanation towards this sentence. It’s a lot of vague statements throughout.
Chapter 6: There may be other reasons why the climate is changing that we do not take into consideration.
1. “An ionosphere excitation quickens carbon-heavy “global warming,” failing “climate models” fail to explain away extreme weather” (Freeland, 173). Global warming and climate models are two of the most important concepts that need to be understood in order to understand the entire scope of climate change. Climate models are amazing technology that have indeed shown evidence towards extreme weather causes, and are only getting us closer to the explanations.
2. “Even corporate members of the World Gold Council may be investing in engineering small earthquakes so water in fault lines will vaporize and deposit gold closer to the surface” (Freeland, 175). I thought this was another vague statement that didn’t really have anything to back it up later in the chapter, so I researched this about the WGC and found nothing but unreliable research/articles that did not have true scientific research to back it up.
3. “While geoengineers, the EPA, and DOE are busy selling aerosols to the public as a solar radiation palliative, the military’s plan to “own the weather” looks to be just that: material gain for corporate fat cats and a weather weapon with which to muscle nations” (Freeland, 175). Again, throughout this book I just don’t buy the idea that the military is using the weather as some sort of nation-control. Freeland consistently mentions this theory, and that’s what it is – a theory. So, unless there’s proof and relatable evidence towards it, I don’t want to listen because it really seems too unjust to be true.
Chapter 7: There were conversations about alternating weather generations ago, which may show that those outcomes are happening today (natural disasters).
ReplyDelete1. “The fact that our lower atmosphere is now acting less like an insulator and more like a conductor points directly to the metallic particulates being dumped by chemtrails and pumped by HAARP” (Freeland, 196). First, this sentence starts out reasonable, but then goes right to the answer of chemtrails. I really think that Freeland should’ve been more human while writing this. I feel like I’m listening to a robot set to destroy the military. Second, I do believe that there are unwanted substances among our water, soils, etc., but they do not only come from what may be chemicals from planes.
2. “We are now on our own in America and must learn to discern truth from fiction, whatever the source” (Freeland, 206). While reading through this chapter I felt like I was watching fox news. I do believe that people need to watch out for false information, but there does not need to be a patriotic spin to it. Knowledge is power, which means everyone deserves to know what is happening in their own country, without bias.
3. “Golden admits that aerosols can also induce floods and droughts, then stutters that yes, aerosols were used to manipulate Katrina’s intensity” (Freeland, 221). I felt like this was just insulting to the people who died and suffered from hurricane Katrina. Anyone that doesn’t believe extreme weather events are coming from our overuse of fossil fuels has their hands up to their ears. Hurricane Katrina was a national devastation and should be treated as such, not intertwined with a radical theory.
Q: Do people really see this specifically as evidence towards the theory of geoengineering? Or does it just add to the conspiracy theory side of it?

ReplyDeleteThesis: There are many anthropogenic factors that are affecting our climate and we must be vigilant to determine what is causing this.
1. The weather being modified through geoengineering will affect various ecological systems. That is why it is going to become essential to be able to differentiate what is a natural system and what is anthropogenic. There have been changes to all the Earth’s systems and we must be able to tell the difference between natural systems, climate change, and geoengineering.
2. Lowell Ponte wrote a book about Earth cooling because he believes that people deserve to be informed and have a say in planet modification. He believes that we have three options, “(1) change ourselves to go along with the coming ‘cooling’ (2) each nation change their local weather/climate, or (3) global control over climate.” (158) It seems that countries have adopted geoengineering aka option 3.
3. Tomography must be considered and scrutinized like Fracking and oil drilling are. Tomography penetrating a solid object through x-rays or ultrasounds. EPT penetrates the Earth and just like fracking and oil drilling contribute to subsidence.
Chapter 6
Thesis: There are ways in which people are capitalizing on the weather and therefore people may be manipulating it in order to profit.
1. With the rise of natural and unnatural disasters, there has also been a rise of disaster capitalism. If people are able to predict these disasters they are also able to capitalize on them and make a profit. This may lead corporations and the government to manufacture more disasters in order to profit.
2. Weather is synonymous with food production. There is a rush to control the food supply and potentially they are viewing food scarcity and hunger as a commodity that can be exploited and profited from. There are major political and economic advantages of controlling weather and drought and how this affects food supply. Corporations such as Monsanto and the United States government may be trying to control, manipulate and capitalize on the basic human need of food.
3. There is a major connection between geoengineering and the economy. Weather derivatives are a growing industry and financial institution. Anyone can buy weather derivatives through the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The weather is also being used through market intelligence.
Chapter 7
Thesis: Full spectrum dominance will be achieved through weather modification.
1. “Technology will make available to the leaders of major nations, techniques for conducting secret warfare, of which only a bare minimum of the security forces need to be appraised.” (195) The weaponizing of the weather and weather manipulation can benefit the world powers through warfare techniques. There are policies like ENMOD that hoped to stop this, however, this might not be followed.
2. Post 9/11 and during the high of the War on Terror, Americans gave president Bush Jr. and the CIA complete permission to takedown all terrorist or potential terrorist groups. During this time many of the countries and the areas in which there were terrorist groups or at least perceived terrorist groups experienced detrimental earthquakes. “The message to nations considering harboring Muslim ‘terrorists’ was clear to everyone but Americans.” (205)
3. “In disaster capitalist terms, earthquakes and hurricanes create new real estate and reconstruction deals…” (216) Full-spectrum dominance is being achieved through natural disasters and the loss of people's homes and livelihood.
Question: Why are companies allowed to profit it off of natural disasters and how can we educate people that there are people who are attempting to profit off of climate change.
Ch 5→ The United States government used funding and power to ensure control over HAARP.
ReplyDelete1. The United States government has been funding weather modification/geoengineering projects since the 1960s. Funding for this technology started at $3 million USD in 1959 and rose up to, “$20+ million in 1980” (Freeland, 157).
2. Further the United States Congress suspended the funding of HAARP until ELF energy was once again used to conduct the tomography that Congress specifically demanded (Freeland, 161).
3. Through the use of an ELF antennas the United States government is able to beam radio energy, which then disperses into, “pulsed ELF energy… in the ionosphere to form a virtual antenna thousands of miles long” (Freeland, 161).
Ch 6→ HAARP can constantly be tied to food security issues around the world.
1. One driving factor behind HAARP is the increase in global population and the drastic measures that must be taken within the food supply system in order to feed this population. It is argued that controlling the weather would have an extreme benefit on food yield, and so rushing into weather control is sometimes seen as a solution to feeding the growing number of people on Earth.
2. I learned that recently Monsanto, “acquired Climate Corporation for 41 billion” (Freeland, 187). The biotech company Monsanto is also responsible for the genetic modification of most seeds and foods. Through acquiring Climate Corporation data this entity has the power to experiment with whether and food.
3.Weather as market intelligence is a booming market based on the fact that, “70 percent of U.S. businesses are weather dependant. Through the ability to alter weather, other markets are more easily influenced.

Geoengineering through energy radiation can have adverse environmental effects that are rarely taken seriously.
1. I really like how this chapter went into Nikola Tesla's influence on all things geoengineering. What is perhaps most interesting is that Tesla knew the power of combining vibrations with Earth’s resonance and the drastic effect that has on Earth’s systems, unlike the United States government.
2. The focus of most geoengineering experiments are to control the natural weather systems produced by earth, but why is the United States doing this without considering the negative effects of introducing this ionization process into the atmosphere?
3. Through using geoengineering as a chemical weapon and experimental weather controller, the United States government is causing drastic adverse effects such as earthquakes.
Q: Should there be restrictions in place for ever-growing companies like Monsanto in order to protect from monopolization of markets?
Ch.5: Natural cycles are being altered such as the planets heating and cooling, to the ocean floor.

2. “The Earth is undergoing macro-cycles and intentional anthropogenic change” (Freeland, 156). Before industrialization there were natural heating and cooling periods. This has since changed.
3. “Louisiana is subsiding. Projections are that by the end of the 21st century, the southeast corner of the state will be under 4.3 feet of Gulf water” (Freeland, 166). Freeland suggests that sinkholes are opening up from a large salt dome being farmed by Texas Brine Company LLC by injecting millions of gallons of water which collapsed.
Ch. 6: Extreme weather, disaster, and climate change are being commodified.
1. As ionosphere excitation quickens carbon-heavy “global warming,” failing “climate models” fail to explain away extreme weather” (Freeland, 173). Freeland claims these changes are either from being intentionally engineered or is the result of decades of upper atmosphere reactivity of VLF power line emissions and HAARP ELF waves tampering with air currents, ionospheric electric current circles the Poles and the atmosphere we breathe.
2. Extreme weather events have become capitalized. “Disaster capitalism works something like this: The National Intelligence Council “forecasts” future events (coups, wars, revolutions, extreme weather, etc.) with the OCRS coming behind to plan reconstruction as old states or regions flounder” (Freeland, 175).
3. “The rush to control the food supply... Weather being almost a synonym for food production, could the global economic crisis and concurrent weather crisis have something to do with a planned segue into a food (read: scarcity) economy” (Freeland, 176)? Freeland suggests mega corporations are jumping in and could see HAARP chemtrails as a major commodity to control food.

During this time, countries with presumed Muslim terrorrists faced extreme earthquakes which sent a big message to the rest of the world.

Our ability to alter the weather will be threatening to the environment.

Thesis: The threats from the agencies interested in weaponizing the atmosphere, have stake in other environmental weapons.
1)These agencies could have the potential for causing greater hurricanes.”In this way the jet streams can be displaced by as much as are hundreds of miles away, depending upon the length of intensity, intention, etc. as low pressure cold and high pressure hot winds are increased the storm or hurricane levels, then steered towards target weather is wanted (196).
2) Past presidents have shown interest in nuclear weapons.“President George W Bush promised that the American war on Muslims would span the globe. Even 11 days after 911 he had a 17 minute conversation with what Russian President Vladimir Putin, Putin gave the nod for US forces posed in Central Asia to jump into Afghanistan to be armed with tactical nuclear weapons such as small neutron bombs, which emit strong radiation, nuclear mines shells and other nuclear ammunition”(203). The united states could greatly benefit fro geoengineering due to our dependence on our military industrial complex.
3) The atmosphere is not the only space of earth being weaponized. Agencies could potentially have the power to cause earthquakes as well. “Project seal, a joint us New Zealand test carried out around New Caledonia and Auckland during World War Two, may have been looking for new fault lines. 3700 bombs were exploded in New Caledonia and later at Wang hora, a small city. This sakes segues to three major 2011 2012 quakes and one tsunami in Japan. that negated the entire planet with radiation (211)
Why should government agencies be allowed to alter the composition of our atmosphere?

ReplyDeleteThesis: Climate change may not be caused by what we currently understand to be causing it.
1. “Seventy-five percent of America has been conditioned to believe that carbon-driven “global warming” is causing the weird weather extremes now broadly labeled “climate change” (Freeland, 155). Woah, okay, Cynthia...are we reading this book as an exercise in learning more about climate change denier’s claims? I’m trying to keep an open mind but it’s difficult when Freeland continually writes outlandish statements with little to no evidence.
2. “Exponential biological, geological, and chemical Earth changes are underway, and it is now essential to learn how to discern the difference between what is natural and cyclic and what is anthropogenic” (Freeland, 156). Scientists have worked for many years to produce research into how we discern this difference in Earth changes.
3. “Certainly the energy industry (nuclear and oil) has dominated politics for so long that its ubiquitous presence is all but invisible, but it is deeply involved with the chemtrail alchemy, ELF ground waves, and tomographic change-particle heat of HAARP technologies” (Freeland, 161). It’s not surprising that both the fossil fuel industry and the chemtrail industry are intertwined, both of them have a blatant disregard for human and environmental wellbeing and will stop at nothing to gain more power.
Question: How can we hold the government and industries responsible accountable?
Chapter 6-
Thesis: The obsessive desire for power and control by our government and corporations in cahoots with them translates into an ugly reality for the American people.
1. “By controlling food, you can control people” (Freeland, 173). A sad but true fact, only made worse by the disconnected food systems within our country and the efforts by folks in power to keep us from advancing in a positive way.
2. “Following in the wake of extreme weather like vultures is an entire industry dedicated to a disaster-based capitalism, rising up to profit from “climate change”” (Freeland, 174). Again, Freeland’s arguments and bold statements are muddied by her lack of supporting evidence and legitimacy. However, I do agree with her on this statement. Corporations will always search for and try to profit off of the most vulnerable parties, and those who are facing disaster are very malleable.
3. “The rush to control the food supply... Weather being almost a synonym for food production, could the global economic crisis and concurrent weather crisis have something to do with a planned segue into a food (read: scarcity) economy?” (Freeland, 176). Whoever is on top will have control, and whoever has control will have power.
Question: If this is legitimate...how are they getting away with this?
Chapter 7-
Thesis:
1. “The Earth and its atmosphere is a breathing organism, a whole being dependent upon innate rhythms, as is all of biological life here below” (Freeland 199). Keeping this notion in mind can mitigate issues that are caused by not looking at the Earth holistically.
2. “We are now on our own in America and must learn to discern truth from fiction, whatever the source” (Freeland, 206). This sentiment is true not only for this theory.
3. “In disaster capitalist terms, earthquakes and hurricanes create new real estate and reconstruction deals” (Freeland, 216). As messed up as it is, this is the reality. Our capitalist society doesn’t care if you lose everything including your dignity, as long as you’ll have to buy something again to make it better.
Question: How can we fight back?
