I hail from Mad River Valley, Vermont, by way of Pittsburgh, New York, Hawaii, Albuquerque, Boston, and points global.
3. Your academic major(s) and minor(s) and why you selected them, in 2 sentences.
I majored in U.S. environmental history, with a focus on communication/media studies, in college (Princeton University) and graduate school (The University of New Mexico). I am deeply interested in the relationship among our natural, human-built and communications environments, especially living in a Digital Age. I am currently working on a book entitled LIFE BY THE HORNS: THE YAK WAY - WHAT WE SAPIENS CAN LEARN FROM THIS SEXY BEAST.
4. Your professional ambitions.
I aspire to be the best professor I can possibly be by making my students as powerful as they wish to be, while playing music with the Phineas Gage Project, running Vermont Independent newspaper, serving up yak meat through a mobile BBQ food cart, and traveling with family, friends, and students as much as possible. Since 2005, I have advocated for Vermont to become its own Republic again, as it once was from 1777-1791.

3. I am an Environmental Studies & Policy major. I chose this as my focus of study because I have always wanted to create conservation/ environmental advocacy films and for my passion for the natural world.
4. I aspire to be someone who knows a lot about the world, but does not have a lot of power. I just want to help sustain nature as much as possible, while also enjoying my life without worries. Maybe some day I'll teach or be a famous videographer - who knows.
